KIDS AGAINST HUNGER

This is our 12th ANNUAL 'KIDS AGAINST HUNGER'

During the weeks starting September 15th and ending October 30th, 2002 young people from church and youth organizations in the City and the surrounding communities will launch a concentrated effort to stock the shelves of the INTERFAITH FOOD BANK for the long winter months ahead.

The youth will do a door to door blitz, canvassing for non-perishable food items. If they come to your door, tagged with a bright sticker marked "KIDS AGAINST HUNGER", answer your door then dash to your kitchen cupboards! The youth will be collecting food for the INTERFAITH FOOD BANK.

The groups participating will be assigned an area of their choosing, preferably one close to their meeting place. Food collection days are arranged by each group. Groups are encouraged to reserve their areas by calling Jock Carpenter at 320-8779 between the hours of 8 am to 3 PM Monday through Friday or by calling her at home evenings at 328-1410.

The youth will be given brightly coloured flyers to hand out to the homes they visit. These will be delivered to the groups with the rest of their kits. How many name tags and flyers will your group need? Please let us know when booking your area and also please return any unused flyers and name tags when delivering your food.

We are asking for your help! Please give generously to the youth groups to help Interfaith get food to adults and children in need. We ask you to accept the challenge to help adults, children and babies, who, for many reasons, are disadvantaged and not able take care of daily basic needs such as eating. Please be kind to your friend and brother.

Sadness and despair is evident on the faces of those attending the food bank. Hunger and deprivation is a serious problem which will never go away. The poor will always be with us. Please help INTERFAITH FOOD BANK be the intermediary between you and the poor. Thank you very much.
We beg you to take an area and help Interfaith provide for people whose sadness and despair is evident in their faces.

If you have any questions, please call Jock at 320 8779. If you cannot reach me, please leave a message on the recorder at Interfaith at that number. Bless you.
Sincerely

Jock Carpenter
Executive Director
