 Gasoline Prices in Lethbridge

What will it take to achieve fair pricing ?

Lethbridge gasoline customers have historically paid more for gasoline than other cities and communities.  The practice has occurred for several years as the information provided demonstrates.

While there have been the occasional short-lived price wars, local posted prices soon return to levels which exceed prices in other communities by 5 to 10 cents per litre.

In recent months gasoline retail margins in Lethbridge have been double to triple those charged in other communities, as the attached independent data clearly demonstrates.

Independent surveys indicate that Lethbridge motorists are well aware that local prices are unfair.  In the past, we have had no problem getting people to sign petitions.

Recently other markets, including Medicine Hat, have benefited from the opening of gasoline outlets by an aggressive retailer (Murphy Oil).

Lethbridge lacks such a retailer and instead has a non-competitive, complacent retail market.
