Gasoline Company Profits Hit Record Levels !!!!!!

 

1.    Is Profit a dirty word ? 

      No  ..........  but " Greed " is !!!  

      And so is " Exploitation ", using world political circumstances to charge unnecessarily high prices at both the wholesale and retail levels. 

  

2.    Prices have fallen back below 70 cents per litre in several other markets ( Calgary, Medicine Hat). 

        Why not Lethbridge ???? 

        ( And thank you to those of you who have been   reporting prices charged in other locations to me)

 PetroCanada, Shell Canada Announce Record Profits


   
       Last week PetroCanada and Shell Canada announced their earnings for the quarter ended December 31, 2002.  
 · PetroCanada's earnings were up 440% for the 4th quarter.  
                Annual profit for PetroCanada was $940 Million for the year.
 · Shell Canada's profit for the quarter was $247 Million,
                 up from $$170 Million just one year earlier.

1.        Both companies operate refineries in Alberta and supply gasoline to other retailers.

2.        Both companies dictate retail pricing to local gasoline markets from their Calgary Head offices

3.        Both companies have been aggressive in driving retail prices up in the Lethbridge gasoline market.
