Blacklady Shaquila is a 1993 Daughter of Purebred Black Arabian-Blacklord Arabi. Here is the story of Arabi, from his webpage.
"Black Arabians are usually born mouse-grey and turn black. Arabi was born jet black. His color is uniquely non-fading Blue Black. Arabi is a "proven" Homozygous Black Stallion! He sires 100% Black foals from Black mares. He has well over 140 foals.
More than 77% are Black even though most mares were not Black. Arabi is straight Egyptian- *Turfa/Blue-List/Al Khamsa. He is also the best known descendent of the Egyptian Import "Adhem.
Arabi stood at public stud for the last time in 1993 because on Valentines Day in 1994, Arabi and our magnificent look-alike mare, Black Sateleyna were both poisoned. Arabi miraculously survived, but he has not been offered at public stud since that date."
