RED HATS START THE CHRISTMAS SEASON
WITH A TURKEY DINNER!

Stepping out in all their glorious Royal Colors, 131 Red Hat Ladies dressed in Purple & Red or Lavender & Pink, sashayed into the Bridge Clubhouse of the Claresholm Golf Club to attend A Christmas Dinner hosted by Queen Elise and her Foxy Ladies.  This  is the start of a wonderful Christmas Season for all Red Hatters that Matter!
Due to the rapid growth of this Red Hat Society, it has now become a necessity for chapters to sell  tickets to planned events.  Each of us with ticket in hand, signed on the back with our names, dropped them into a large purple basket to be drawn for door prizes throughout the dinner.
What a delicious dinner it was too!  Turkey, ham, salads and all the trimmings.  The cook was a Red Hatter also and brought many of her own decorations to place around the room adding to the festivities.  A 10 foot long table was set with such a fabulous array of desserts to make anyone’s mouth water!  We do love our desserts!
As in most of these planned events, the Queen’s (there were 15 of us!) paraded around the room to not single them out, but to honor them and their chapterettes attending with them.  It’s the Red Hat Way!
We don’t like to disappoint and it was with that in mind Queen Elise and her Foxy Ladies admirably went about that task for this Christmas dinner.  She must have spent countless hours visiting the merchants with the vast amount of prizes and the crafts created by Queen Elise herself.
To all those ladies in a parade that chose to decorate their Red Hats with a Christmas theme,

...they all were gifted with a prize as she said; “too beautiful to choose a winner”!

She then called all the Red & Pink Hat ladies with birthday’s in Oct. Nov. & Dec. to present themselves and then gave each of them a gift!  To say that nearly every lady in the room received some kind of recognition is the truth, as each chapter that attended brought with them a gift bag and these were given by drawing names from that big purple basket and  then Queen Elise
drew another name to receive the purple basket!
I must tell you about our entertainer, a lady of wit, comedy and song, Cynthia Hawkins, a resident of Claresholm did indeed entertain and had such a rapport with our Red Hat Ladies, one would have thought she herself was a Red Hatter.  Alas, she is not, but some chapter will be very lucky to have her as a Pink Hatter if she ever decides to join in our fun as evidenced by her performance!

She was a hoot, the witticism simply rolled off her tongue and what a lovely singing voice too.  We do hope to see her again at future Red Hat events!

The 50/50 draw was divided in half and one lucky Red Hatter won a fist full of dollars!  The other half, I am so pleased to tell you, entertainer Cynthia, requested her payment for her talents be given as a donation to the Food Bank.
What an honorable and giving lady!
With the food consumed, the prizes and gifts given, and everyone in high spirits of sharing the afternoon with other fun loving Red Hatters that matter, and all the pictures were taken, it was time to say good bye until next time.

Don’t forget to check your website for future events with the hopes other Red & Pink Hatters can join us. We give our heartfelt thanks for a grand day spent together in Claresholm with Queen Elise and her Foxy Ladies!
