QUEEN’S GATHERING SEPT.10, 2008
At this gathering of Queen’s and among the happy
chatter of Red Hatters that Matter, we took notice of 19
lovely ladies dressed in Purple with such a beautiful array
of Red Hats to boggle the mind. Who said they couldn’t find
nice hats to purchase? Royal Queen’s and many chapteretts I
have seen, have spray painted and decorated all types and
shapes of hats to become individual elegant prizes! What a
delight to witness so many sitting around our table and hear
the tales of just how they came to be!
That of course, is only a part of the discussions that
abound at our gatherings and not so very different than the
gatherings within our chapters. We hold no secrets, just
getting together as queenly sisters to chat. It is also the
time to announce up coming events a chapter will be
hosting. We know no bounds in the growth of the Red Hat
Chapters within our area and yes, world wide! It’s amazing
how we come together in support of each other in our pursuit
of Fun, Friendship, Freedom and Fulfillment!
As we are graciously accepted and accommodated at the
Lethbridge Senior Center, it behooves us to announce the
needs of the center: they are helping with the Senior Games
and are requesting volunteers to stuff envelopes for that
event on Mon. Sept. 15th and Tues. Sept. 16th from 9 AM to 4
PM. Lunch will be served.
Please just present yourself at the front sign-in desk and
you will be directed where to go. If you can and will give
your time - many thanks!

1. Oct. 4th The Country Angels of Stavely are hosting a
Harvest Tea & Dessert.
2. Oct. 9th The Red Hot Mamas of Taber are hosting a
Hatters Harvest Hoot.
3. Queen Marlene of Biddies & Tarts announced her chapter
along with Queen Lorraine of Summer Wine and Queen Shirley
of Cinnamon Sisters Chapters are hosting the
following 2 events:
A. Oct. 29th Fashion Faux Pas in Red & Purple for Halloween.
B. Dec. 10th Decades of Christmas Lunch.
4. Queen Mum Sandy reminded everyone the deadline for
Veranda rooms aboard the Holland America Noordam Ship for
the February Red Hat Caribbean 10 day Cruise is Mon. Sept.
15th.
5. Queen Pat of Holy Hattitudes said some chapter needs to
consider having the April 25th 2009 Birthday Tea.
We Queen’s did decide that we are not a “council” and
therefore wish to keep our “Queen’s Gathering” as such which
is much less formal and more in keeping with the essence of
the Red Hat Society. After all, we have no rules, we do not
have meetings - just fun and chatting. We are so good at
that and still manage to “get it done”.
