A REGAL SET OF DECADES
FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER!

Isn’t it fun to look back and see what
Victorian ladies dressed like in the 1800’s,

or the Flapper era of the
1920’s to the 40’s

and then there are the
1950’s with poodle skirts, Hippie & Flower children with
their fingers pointing up in a victory sign of the 1960’s

and then the rest of modern day Red Hat Elegance as we so
proudly display our love of playing dress up!
It all came together
when Queen Marlene & her Biddies & Tarts, Queen Shirley & her
Cinnamon Sisters and Queen Lorraine & her Summer Wine
chapterettes, planned an extraordinary and successful event
that they can be very proud of!

To say that all of the plans
came together without any effort whatsoever, we know better!
These gals had to have spent many hours for when you looked
around the room to the many decorations and saw all those
wonderful center pieces on each table, the darling little hats
at each place setting which had a candy inside or if you were
very lucky, you had a number in your’s and you won the
centerpiece on your table! My goodness, the prizes were just
wonderful and these gals did all this without any help from
others! Impressive! But then, Red Hatters are known as an
impressive group of women! We have learned over the years to
either be very creative or to improvise, it’s what we do! We
are not old - we are experienced!!

Each “class” of a certain “era”
gathered and paraded so we could all get a good look at the
great costume’s being worn, the Judges had a hard time as
usual! While they were still looking and deciding, we took
pictures of each group. But it was unanimous who they picked
as a winner of each era and presented that Red Hat Lady with a
prize.

Queen Shirley as “official director”
or Mistress of Ceremonies, asked Queen Elise of Foxy Ladies to
say Grace before we partook of the Turkey dinner served buffet
style and catered by Clara’s Klassy Kitchen of Coaldale. She
then called each chapter by name to line up to fill their
plates and kept that line moving right along so we were all
sitting down together to enjoy a delicious turkey with all the
trimmings. Dessert was served to each of us by the caterer’s
crew. The entire meal was wonderful and despite the amount, it
very much tasted like homemade so I ask you, what is a better
compliment to the cook?

Entertainment by the Rhythm Kings, a trio of very
personable gentlemen that did indeed entertain with lively
tunes that had several of us dancing!! Or toes tapping by
those sitting at tables! (I saw them!) These men like to
interact with our ladies and Queen Shirley made sure they
became a part of our fun by presenting each of them with a Red
Santa Hat. Naturally, they sang and played many Christmas
tunes while we all sang along!

Congratulations to all the winners for the best of
their era, the Certificate winner for the Coaldale Fitness
Center, winner of the Thomas Kinkade Red Hat Sculpture (which
was the envy of all 60 women in that room of Red Hatters.) But
all the lovelies that garnered prizes for one thing or another
could not be happier with their booty!

We ended a very high energy event with the ever
popular “Conga Line”!! Fun! It’s what we do!
Thank you Queens and all your gals for an effort well
received! We had a wonderful time and wish you again; A VERY
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

In Fun & Hilarity!
Queen Mum Sandy
