Queens Gathering May 13, 2009
We opened our gathering with a welcome to two new
queens,
Cheryl Chase of Lavender & Lace and Linda Kish of Giddy
Grannie’s
Since we have discussed our “privacy issue” at the LSCO,
Queen Mum Sandy had done some extensive investigating of
another place to hold our gathering’s, looking for
cleanliness and good food as well as privacy. We do after
all discuss some rather sensitive subjects that we don’t
care to have everyone privy to. That is the reason for the
Queen’s to gather, to air problems or concerns and find
resolutions among other queens that may have “been there,
done that’!
With that in mind, it was put to a vote to change our
venue to Luigis Restaurant in a lovely quiet private room
along with having lunch. With the majority in favor of such a
change, we will again gather on Sept.2nd
at Luigis at 11 AM (moved up a week due to the
Kalispell Convergence).

with numbers to attend as this is for lunch also.
The
cost has been quoted as $12.60 with GST and coffee, tea or
pop all inclusive.
Past events held were discussed and
reported upon. Queen Doreen of Wild Prairie Roses will write
an article to put on website covering their Birthday Lunch
and Fashion Show.
It was requested that each chapter hosting an event
please write something. QM Sandy said her head is getting
too big because she writes all the articles, yes, she loves
doing so and is very gratified with the response but feels
there have to be some talented writers out there we have not
tapped into. Q Empress Eileen thought it should be the
responsibility of each queen and we all need to delegate
more, therefore finding that talent among our Chapterettes.

Tomfoolery after the parade.

DISCUSSIONS:
We need some way for new Red Hatters coming to our area
to get in touch with others as well as chapters willing to
accept new members or just to invite a visitor to attend a
Chapter event. Nothing was resolved although we will think
about this problem.
Upsetting though it is, we had to discuss the problem of
those Red Hatters refusing to pay the $20.00 full membership
as some of our members are confused.
It is called “Canadian Breakaway” and was discussed &
Cussed (yes!) as we are faithful to the Red Hat Society &
have no desire to change things. Change can be good
sometimes and perhaps this is a way to get rid of those
negative factors. Queen Clydine of Prairie Angels spent an
hour on the phone to Hatquarters and reported to us.
They are not concerned with this Breakaway in Canada and
wish them luck.
We are in hopes that all our Queens in this area will
Continue to be Red Hat Queens with very active Chapterettes
within this wonderful dis-organization of The Red Hat
Society!
