DISCUSSION OF RED HAT INSURANCE:
 QMSandy has been in touch with the Ins. Co. and is in the process of
 Gathering information.  When this is accomplished, she will let each
 Chapter know how this will be handled in future along with cost.
 She asked that you please be patient with her.  Our Policy is not to expire until March 2010 so she still has time to work it out.
 It was discussed and suggested that any chapter having an invited event  should have Insurance coverage.

 

FROM HATQUARTERS QUEEN TO QUEEN BROADCAST:
 Q.M. Sandy read the following:
 Our colors, catchwords, traditions and ideas have deep meaning for all of us. 
 We are well aware that the Red Hat Society has been the inspiration for a  number of other groups now in existence.  We respect their right to exist, of  course.  But we continue to expect to receive respect in return.  We ask them  to refrain from attempting to replicate everything we have built, deliberately  causing confusion out there in the world, implying that they are just like us, except for their colors.

 

 We Red Hatters are members of a unique disorganization.  The Red Hat  Society is the largest women’s social group in the world, and we are proud of  that!

 

QUEEN‘S GATHERING  - Lunch or another private room?
 Why are the numbers down in attendance for our Queen’s gathering ?
 It seems to be a problem for some of our Queens that wish not to have to  buy a lunch. To have it at any restaurant it is a must to use their room.
 Also QM Sandy said if we do not have at least 15 members attending, we
 will have to pay $25.00 for the use of the room..naturally, we do not have the money to do this so the stress of making sure 15 show is a bit much.
 It was suggested that we form a kitty for just such an emergency but it was not what Queens wanted to do.

 It was also mentioned Denny’s is offering 10% off to all Red Hatters.  That is Only for Red Hatters going for coffee or lunch in restaurant.
 The Banquet room costs money or you buy lunch, same as others.

 We’re looking for a private place to gather not expecting a lunch.
 Some Queen’s thought that Luigi’s was a good, clean, private, nice and quiet  room. Q Mum Helen suggested we try different places and see which one we like the best.
 We left the Sr. Center for the privacy factor and was decided by the majority we didn’t want to return there.
 Several Queen’s have stated they will look for someplace else and get back  to us at our next Queen’s Gathering or email QMSandy with results. Her  email: chfmtsandy@aol.com
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
 A. The Hospital Festival of Trees held in Dec. has been cancelled due to the H1N1 virus.

 B.  On March 23rd Reba will be at the Enmax.  V.Q.Isabel of Prairie Wild  Roses  had the costs per ticket.  It was thought to be too expensive so none interested in getting a group of Red Hatters to attend.

 C.  Queen Beryl of the Red Hat Teddies said her chapter will be manning  the  Sally Ann Kettle at So. Side Wal-Mart on Dec. 2nd all day as a community  project.

 D.  Red Hat Coffee Table Book cost is $109.00 US funds or a CD Rom for $30.00 less or $79.00 US Funds.

 E.  Q. M. Helen of Sunny Red Hatters of Taber announced they will have another Harvest Hoot in September 2010 but a date has not been set yet.

 Cost for the ride on bus $40.00 Phone quickly as spaces fill quickly.
 8:30 AM pick up at LSCO and pick up at 5:00 PM for ride home.

 Tickets will be for sale at our next Queen’s Gathering Jan. 13, 2010
 Please have each of your ladies Name & Supporting Membership Number.
 Your Supporting Membership Card will be necessary at the door.

 

 REMINDER:  As of January 1st 2010 only supporting members will be
 Invited to attend Red Hat Events and will be requested to show their
 RHS Supporting Membership Card & Chapter Number.
 Remember that your membership will continue to run from your chapters  initial registration date to the next yr.

  Question was asked how we would know if they are registered,
 All will have to provide their chapter number & Supporting Membership  Number.  They will only have those if they are registered.

 

 Queen Judi showed us the hats she has created and the capelet that she made 
 All were a big hit and  she graciously gave us copies of the pattern. Thank  you Q. Judi!

  It was decided to put the “Fun” back into the Red Hat Society as we have  known it before all the dissension.  It’s up to each of us, so let’s start with  small groups of invited chapters getting together to do something, anything  to share!  Eventually that FUN will all come back and let’s hope it’s sooner!

 

 We will continue to hold our Queen’s Gathering’s on the 2nd Wed. of
 every other month.  Our next Gathering is set for Jan. 13th at Luigi’s.

 

 It was unanimously decided that Q.M. Sandy would continue in the
 lead chair at future Queens Gathering’s.  No one wanted the position.
