The weather perhaps was to blame for the small numbers
attending this months Queen’s Gathering. As 15 of us were
discussing all the lovely Event’s coming in this new year…we
were quietly being filmed by Norm, producer of Lethbridge
based CityTVCalgary. Some Queen’s were interviewed, others
were shy but he believes in us and what we do so it’s bound
to be a wonderful clip. Following our Gathering, Nine
Queen’s had a wonderful Caribbean Buffet Lunch prepared by
the student chefs at the college with Norm also along for
more filming of what we do best…EAT!! It was a fun filled
couple hours with delicious food, so good in fact, several
ladies requested the recipes!! Doesn’t that say it all?!
The following is a list of our
discussions on events and coming events.
1. The Christmas Tree Festival
@ Hospital: Queen Marlene and her Biddies & Tarts
decorated a small tree. Queen Beryl of Red Hat Teddies is a
member of the Hosp. Aux. and they were there to treat us to
a fine Senior Tea.
Our only complaint - there were not
enough Red Hatters taking advantage of this wonderful outing
to view some very fabulous decorated Christmas Trees that
would be auctioned at a special Gala Event held by Chinook
Regional Hosp. Foundation.
If any Chapter is interested in decorating a tree for
this year, reservations need to be made now. Call the
Foundation and ask for Jason -403-388-6028 for all info.
2. POSTPONED!!
Country Angels Feb. Event of Heart & Bone Health, Lunch
Through no fault of their own…they will hold this at a

3.Prarie Wild Rose Chapter

6. Strawberry Tea Event by
Prairie Angels. 1st
Saturday in June. When we receive notification,
have your numbers and money in hand to get it off in time.
There is a real crush to get to this event!!
7. VICTORIAN STROLL
Henderson Lake - event hosted by Chief Mountain R.H.So.
Belles June 27th 11:30
am…take note: stroll then go eat wherever you make
reservations or picnic at the lake.
8. Klassy Crimson
Hatters of Cardston for Heritage Day’s Saturday

10. Kalispell Convergence

11. Lady Godiva modeled her new sweatshirt we all
admired! These are purple with a red insert at neck with
different Red Hat sayings across front.

12.Vulcan Trooper Trekkies
Queen Myrtle announced there to be another BBQ in August
2009. With date and time to be announced.

Queen Elise has no chapter now and wanted to know if she
could still come to the Queen’s Gathering. We advised her
to keep her chapter open and pay her membership dues to
retain her Queen status.
Ruby Ramblers…those that have no chapter but belong to
our Society as
Members at large. Should they be
attending the Queen’s gathering?
Decision was made that
only Queen’s attend as this is after all, a privilege for
all Queen’s with the opportunity to brain storm with other
Queen’s, and all discussions pertaining to the Red Hat
Society that they can take back to their Chapters, enabling
them to be more active. All information is then posted to
our website by our very own Lady Barb for all to read.
With no further business we dispersed for lunch at
11:30 am.
