Healthy Hearts/Healthy Bones

The decorations (hearts and skeletons) were hung in keeping with the theme Health Hearts/Strong Bones. The tables were dressed in red with flower centrepieces ready for invited quests while music played in the background.

Pink and Red Hatters from near and far didn’t let the unpredictable weather keep them from attending this extraordinary affair.  Queen Sandy welcomed everyone and announced the program before asking Vice-Queen Lady Enchantment Fern to ask the blessing.  Hazel and her staff at the Bridges did a splendid job of preparing the hot buffet selections and wonderful desert table.

The program consisted of an information and question period by Pharmacies Lee Mainprizes on how to keep a healthy heart that also leads to strong bones.  Ladies were encouraged to kick up their heals to the music by Larry Ford, before the Tai Chi group took the stage to show us the different moves and tell of the benefits.  This was followed by more music and dancing.

Larry and Lee were impressed by all the hats and faced the challenge of picking 3 that caught their eye. These ladies were presented an angel pin.  No event is complete without the draw for the door prizes, raffle ticket and the lucky winner of the 50/50 draw took home over $80.00 or did she slip around the corner to get in some final shopping?

Ladies could not escape the opportunity to shop till they dropped.  The Best Western Gifts and Dollar Store from Nanton accepted the vender’s invitation to set up a tremendous array of Red Hat finery.

County Angels from Stavely would like to thank those who helped to make this a successful fun event.  New friendships were formed though the freedom of expression.  Without Healthy Hearts and Strong Bones we miss out on the fulfillment of life.
